November 2021 – Teledyne Marine are pleased to announce the first sale of the new Teledyne RESON SeaBat T20-ASV unit to Maritime Robotics AS of Trondheim, Norway for integration on an Otter unmanned surface vessel to be delivered to Latvian based port services provider at the Freeport of Riga “RĪGAS BRĪVOSTAS FLOTE” Ltd. (RBF).
The technology will allow RBF to provide high-quality hydrographic services in Baltic ports. The sale follows successful integration of the T20-ASV on the Otter in recent weeks with formal unveiling of the solution at Ocean Business 2021 in Southampton, UK where demonstrations were made. Based around the widely popular SeaBat T20, from Teledyne RESON of Denmark, the T20-ASV is optimised for use on autonomous platforms having reduced size, power consumption and weight. The T20-ASV comes as standard with SeaBat AI control, optimising results and giving true hands-off operation - a major step toward fully autonomous operations. “Adapting the SeaBat T20 to suit ever smaller platforms means surveyors can now benefit from Teledyne RESONs exceptionally clean, high-resolution data and precise positioning even when working from small vehicles such as the Otter” said Ed Cheesman of Teledyne Marine. “We are delighted to partner with Maritime Robotics to bring such enhanced capabilities to their wide and growing user base around the world”. “We are proud to be the first USV manufacturer to successfully integrate and demonstrate this new turn-key solution”, added Kristoffer Fortun of Maritime Robotics “Integration went smoothly thanks to close collaboration between engineering teams and we are immediately impressed by the ease of use and quality of the data which really stands out. We can see this combination will be in demand.” “RBF is interested in application of advanced, modern and environmentally friendly technologies with the aim of providing increasingly high-quality port services in order to increase the competitiveness of Latvian ports.” said Kaspars Ozoliņš, RBF Member of Board. “Moving to unmanned vessels to augment existing operations is an exciting step and getting the platform and payload right is key. The new Otter/ T20-ASV combo is welcome news as it means no compromise over sensor selection with data as good as we might expect from our much larger manned vessels. We are looking forward for getting the technology in place to attain our ambitions.”
