We are delighted to announce the return of our annual photo contest. This is your opportunity to raise global awareness of the current challenges faced by the international community in connection with the oceans from the office, laboratory and at sea. Teledyne Marine customers and product users are invited to submit their favorite photos showing any of Teledyne Marine's over 400 products in action. Eight awards will be given out this year via a series of new categories.
Entrants are encouraged to submit their photographs and/or cast their vote(s) for their favorite images along with a description on or before the September 8, 2019 deadline and the winners will be announced thereafter. The photo competition has eight categories open for photographic submission: Grand Prize, Voters Choice Award, Staff Favorite Award, Best Data Award, Subsea Image Award, Creativity Award, Adversity Award and Thank You Award.
Entrants will be recognized with the chance to win the Grand Prize, a choice of either a Bose QuietControl 3D Wireless Headphones or Speaker while all other categories will receive a premium eco-swag bag which includes an Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Bluetooth waterproof, portable speaker, Bracenet unisex bracelet, HydroFlask stainless steel water bottle and branded merchandise.
A shortlist of entries will be selected by a panel of judges including marine expert, professor of Oceanography at Oregon State University, Dr. Rick Spinrad, a member of the Ocean Studies Board of the National Academies, and President of the Marine Technology Society. And senior engineer for Canada's hydrometric program (Water Survey of Canada), Dr. Elizabeth Jamieson, her current role is with ECCC is the national lead on hydrometric monitoring technology within the Water Survey of Canada (WSC). Elizabeth is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa. Our third judge is President of The Hydrographic Society of amercia (THSOA), Mike Nitska his current role is with Hydroterra Technologis located in South Louisiana. Mike has over 38 years' experience in the land and hydrographic survey industry, Mike has worked on projects both around the world and domestically.
