Teledyne Marine Promotes Two Executive Leaders

Teledyne Marine is pleased to announce two recent changes to their executive team lineup. Thomas Altshuler, Ph.D., will be Senior Vice President of Business Development for Marine Defense focusing on US and NATO programs and Steven Reid will lead both the DG O'Brien and Marine Vehicles group as Vice President and General Manager.

Dr. Altshuler was Vice President and Group General Manager for Teledyne Marine Vehicles, headquartered in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, since 2009. Prior to Teledyne Marine Vehicles, he was the Executive Director of the Information Sciences Division at Teledyne Scientific & Imaging. Dr. Altshuler spent four years as a program manager with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).  He is a member of the NOAA Environmental Information Services Working Group. His participation in other working groups and task forces include the Defense Science Board investigating chemical weapons defense, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy investigating opportunities for landmine detection, and a NATO working group investigating opportunities for landmine replacements. Dr. Altshuler has a B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His extensive background in Defense will assist Teledyne Marine's expansion into this key market.

Steven Reid has been the Vice President and General Manager for Teledyne DG O'Brien in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the past eighteen months. Prior to Teledyne, Mr. Reid was the Vice President and General Manager for Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, where he led a global division and a team of 400 with operations in Europe, Russia, and North America. He has held similar positions at Hydraulic Technologies in Galion, Ohio and Crane Company in Piqua, Ohio. Mr. Reid has an exceptional record of accomplishment for improving revenue growth and key operational metrics including on-time delivery and quality. Mr. Reid holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. In his new role, Mr. Reid will apply the same disciplines across the Vehicles group, working closely with the management teams at these locations.​​​
